Southampton Women's FC is delighted to announce the signing of Katie Kingshott who joins after parting ways with AFC Bournemouth.

The fullback signs on after four seasons with the Cherries where she made 67 appearances for them.

Kingshott was a captain for Chelsea Development in her early days where she also played alongside Lucy Mear from there she joined Watford in the old WSL2 (now Championship) and then moved to Whyteleafe before the switch to Dorset.

Manager Aaron Smith was happy to bring in the versatile defender, he said: "Katie comes to us with a wealth of experience from her previous clubs where she has been a starting player and is well respected.

"The way she plays gives us something that we are missing as a group and I have been so impressed with the intensity levels that she has brought to training.

"Katie comes into an already strong squad where she can play several positions and she brings a leadership quality to the group."

Kingshott comes straight into the squad and is available for selection for Sunday's League Cup encounter with Cardiff City.
