Knight said: "It’s a great feeling to sign for a club with so much ambition and the girls have been so welcoming and looking forward to the season starting.

"After doing a couple of the training sessions, I think it was clear how far this club wants to go and progress this season."

The young defender moved from Reading where she has spent most of her youth football career with short stints at AFC Wimbledon and Brighton & Hove Albion.

With her move to the Reds she said: "With this being my first year in women’s football, it’s a great club to be a part of.

"They can expect calmness on the ball, energy around the pitch and hopefully some assists and goals."
