In accordance with the guidance issued by the FA on June 1st and June 12th that non-contact training can resume for grassroots football.
One on one training or five to one training are the current guidance with all participants maintaining a two metre distance at all times.
Following on from the official guidance set out by the FA alongside the Government update Southampton Women’s have outlined our own club guidelines which included a COVID-19 return to training course that all coaches have to complete before holding any form of training.
The club guidelines include the following but not limited to:
• All participants must be free from COVID-19 symptoms and cannot train if they are showing symptoms.
• All venues must be risk assessed before all sessions.
• All participants must be made aware of the nearest toilet facilities ahead of training.
• Alcohol hand gel is to be supplied by each individual, used before and after training, and will NOT be shared with others.
• Participants must supply their own drinks and will NOT share with others.
• Balls cannot be handled by anyone and the coach will collect them while wearing gloves.
• All equipment is to not be touched by players and the coach will collect and set out for all sessions.
It is down to the individual coach to monitor these guidelines during their sessions but the club will continue to work with all members to make sure good practices of these guidelines are followed.
The club is committed to protecting our players and staff and will continue to take guidance from the FA and the Government as the situation develops.
